IntroductionThe pages in this archive comprise the complete archive of my internet journaling from the time I was in the fifth grade (2000) to the present (2009). In that time, I jumped from web-host to host, thinking that if I made a clean start this time, I could make a good effort on my projects. I was ever so sadly mistaken on all of those occasions. I have saved and compiled these archives because of my compulsive need to hoard and save information. Why you are here, only God knows. What you are about to experience varies widely in topic and quality, and though I claim these as my writings, I do not necessarily endorse or defend the quality or content therein. You are a brave/bored soul for reading these. Via con Dios. Chuck's Web Site - (30-December-2000 -- 16-March-2003)
I started this trainwreck of a website in the year 2000, when I was but a young child who thought it would be cool to have a website. No thought was put into content, design, spell-check, or other unneccessary things. It was on this site that I cut my teeth on HTML. Other pages on this site were a mish-mash of "book reviews," Magic decks, and "lists." I abandoned the site in 2003, when I made this into the first incarnation of Chuck's World O' Wargames. (A design note: the site originally had a red-brick background, making it less legable and more horrendous. It disappeared sometime after I abandoned the site.) The site can be seen live here. Chuck's MSN Space - (7-August-2005 -- 17-March-2006)
I gave up "blogging" after I launched Chuck's World O' Wargames, as I was too busy not creating content to write about anything. When I jumped ship from Angelfire to Freewebs, I created the blog on my MSN space. Notable firsts for this site include my first comment and my first Quiz Bowl roundup. I'm not as intensely embarassed by this site as I am of my first one, and in some ways it shows the writing of a person more concentrated on the task than I am these days. Perhaps I would like my present writings more if I tried to be less profound. Chucksphere Front Page Blog - (4-July-2006 -- 2-December-2006)
This was my pathetic attempt to execute a blog on the front page of the Chucksphere. It's contained in the inline frame on the right. The text on the left was a short blurb about myself. The blog itself, in additon to being awkwardly placed, was tripe. It continues my themes of not actually doing anything, and then writing about it. This is the first appearance of the "Monument to My Failures" article, which has made an appearance in every blog of mine since. This blog was axed over Christmas break and the inline frame became the "Chucksphere Freature of the [Time Period]". Old Chuck-ese - (13-January-2007 -- 25-May-2007)
I started this site on Google Pages because I wanted a less-ugly alternative to my inline-frame-blog. Why I didn't use an actual blogging service like WordPress, Type Pad, or Blogger I can't quite remember. This blog has the distinction of being the first part of the Chucksphere to actually look good. This site died when I realized that I'm a whore for approval and thus wanted comments on my blog. New Chuck-ese - (23-June-2007 -- 5-April-2009)
This edition of the Chucksphere was created using the WordPress system, and was integrated into the main site. I stuck with this for nearly two years, never missing a month. I actually had a few vistors to this site, something unprecedented in the previous versions. It got the point where I had to upgrade the blog software, and I figured that if I was going to go through the trouble of downloading it, I might as well make my front page functional, so I merged the two and that's how I got the Chucksphere you see today.
